Further information

It all starts by getting in touch

The first step is to email me to check availability and set up an initial, free-of-charge consultation over Zoom. These last approx 20 mins and are an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have:

alex@alexvendittelli.com

Assessment

From there, we can set up an assessment, this typically takes place over one to two sessions (charged at my standard rate). At this point we can decide if we feel like a good fit, and if so, I can take you on as a client.

Weekly therapy

I see clients weekly, for 50-minute sessions, at the same time/day each week. I’m unable to extend the time if clients are late for any reason unfortunately.

In-person/online

I primarily work in-person but can also offer a mix of in-person and remote sessions over Zoom.

Endings

Endings are an important part of the therapeutic process. Clients are free to end therapy at any time and I recommend this is discussed in advance so we can have a planned ending session, or perhaps more for longer term work.

Payment and cancellations

Payment is by bank transfer the day before each session. I operate a 7-day cancellation policy, with a limit of four unpaid session cancellations per year (excluding my holidays). This allows me to keep your slot reserved for you on an ongoing basis. Should you need to reschedule a session, I will offer an alternative slot in the same week if available.

Ethics and supervision

I am committed to ethical practice and am in regular supervision with a qualified UKCP supervising psychotherapist. I abide by the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. My supervisor is bound by the same ethical code.

Training and insurance

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and hold professional indemnity insurance. Additionally, I am in advanced training at the Metanoia Institute in London, working toward my MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a qualification of Certified Transactional Analyst; I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as a trainee psychotherapist.

Confidentiality and data protection

Confidentiality and trust are cornerstones of a therapeutic relationship. Your personal information will be treated with the utmost respect and care. Other than supervision, there are a few limitations to client confidentiality, for example if I have a safeguarding concern and believe you or another is at risk. These instances are fortunately very rare, and I am happy to discuss confidentiality in further detail should you wish. Any personal data I hold about a client is stored in a secure format.
